Primates Trek and Lake Kivu Splash   

Tour Summary

This program starts with a visit of the twin historic towns, south of Kigali; it then proceeds to gives one the opportunity to visit possibly all the primates resident in Rwanda, starting with the over 13 different primates, including the Chimpanzee – that are to be found in Nyungwe Forest National Park, followed by the ultimate adventure experience – the Gorilla Trek, and the lesser Golden Monkey, both in the Volcanoes National Park. Another highlight at the volcanoes, is the photographic visit of the twin lakes, before concluding with Rwanda’s history during the Kigali City Tour, that includes the Genocide Memorial Centre and the Museum of Natural History.


Day 1: Arrival Kigali - City Tour/Volcanoes Nationa Park

Morning arrive into Kigali – to an orientation tour of Kigali City, including the genocide museum and museum of natural history.

Enjoy lunch at one of Kigali’s popular restaurants, before driving in the afternoon, to the Volcanoes National Park for overnight.

Day 2: Volcanoes National Park - Gorilla Trek/Twin Lakes

Morning Gorilla trek, followed by lunch at your lodge.

Afternoon, enjoy a visit of the spectacular and scenic Twin Lakes – Burera and Ruhondo.

Overnight at your volcanoes lodge.

Day 3: Volcanoes National Park - Golden Monkey Trek/Lake Kivu

Morning Golden Monkey trek, followed by lunch at your lodge.

Afternoon, drive to Lake Kivu for overnight.

Day 4: Lake Kivu - Leisure/Kigali/Depart

Spend the morning at the shores of Lake Kivu, with optional leisure activities.

Lunch at your hotel.

Afternoon, drive back to Kigali - with onward transfer to the airport for your evening outbound flight.
